Keeping up with our many "Energizer Bunny" classmates is not easy. But here are a few that came over the "transom" in the last week or so: 

Ellouise sent this picture of she and her husband Jim taken recently in Jonesborough, TN.

HI - Jim and I spent the week-end in Jonesborough TN at the National Storytelling Festival and so did Letty and Donald Nance. It was great to see them and we enjoyed sharing an evening a great stories and an hilarious solo performance by Andy Offutt Irwin with them in a big top tent filled with about 1500 other story-o-files. Laughing is good! As is seeing Donald looking so well after his recent tough times. Wish you and Linda had been there too.  -Ellouise

That fellow standing next to Lettie actually IS Don Nance. At first I thought he looked like he had lost about 30 lbs, but on closer inspection, I'm sure it was an optical illusion probably caused by the same earth tremor that seems to have occurred just as the snapshot was taken.

Either that, or he's been "working out" and getting in shape for the annual NANCE/MYERS 8 yard "run up the hill" Competition.

Our own Jenny Margaret Meador is still going strong, senatoring in Montgomery County Maryland. Here's the story from the Montgomery County Daily Record:

A proposal for what would be the state’s largest district courthouse took a giant step toward becoming a Rockville reality Wednesday, when the Board of Public Works 

approved a $59.9 million contract for the building’s construction — even as the panel cut nearly $300 million from other state programs and projects.

The new courthouse will stand as “a monument to wasteful government spending,” said Rockville resident Frank S. Anastasi, who opposes the project.
But state Sen. Jennie M. Forehand, D-Montgomery County, an ardent supporter of the new courthouse, called the construction justified even in these belt-tightening times.

The Lunch Bunch

Mitzi Minor Roper reports that our dynamic class of '54's newest monthly tradition began magnificently!

About 26 Wildcats arrived at our favorite restaurant Jimmies, napkins tucked under their chins, all primed for great food, great conversation, and great old friends.

AND, even NEW, old friends. (Those we never got to know that well at Central, but now have another opportunity.)

Mitzi said everyone got up and told a little about their lives since 1954, most of which were absolutely spellbinding.

She reports that special thanks should go to Shirley McClanahan Maynor and Jerry Gaudet for their work that made the first, of what we hope will be many "mini reunions" at Jimmies!
